What is the normal eyelash growth and shed cycle?
The normal eyelash growth and shed cycle is 30 to 60 days. Most people shed natural lashes at a rate of 1-2 lashes per day from each eye. New lashes grow in to replace the ones that have fallen out.
What exactly are eyelash extensions?
Eyelash extensions are a painless procedure that augments your own eyelashes by adding weightless and very natural looking synthetic lashes.
How many synthetic lashes do you apply?
At M-Lash, we focus on designing and shaping the entire lash line using different lash sizes to create an individual look tailored to your eye shape. The size and shape of your eyes and what type of look you want to achieve (natural or dramatic) will determine how many lashes you need. A full lash application will take anywhere from 70-100 individual lashes per eye.
How long is the lash application process?
The individualized treatment can take up to 2 hours. You will need to be calm and patient, but most clients tend to fall asleep as the procedure is painless and relaxing.
Must I prepare my eyelashes for my treatment?
Before your visit, be sure your eyelashes are clean. Remove any mascara before you arrive. Residues of any kind on your eyelashes can negatively affect the lash adhesive and reduce how long your synthetic lashes will last.
How long do the synthetic eyelashes last?
This depends on how well you care for them. Their cosmetic life is also related to the growth and loss rate of your own natural lashes. If you treat them properly, your eyelash extensions can typically last for up to two months or more. They can last indefinitely with monthly M-Lash maintenance appointments.
Will M-Lash lashes damage my natural eyelashes?
Our lash adhesive is the best on the market. It creates a polypeptide bond specifically made for human lashes. The adhesive allows the lashes to stay flexible and bouncy. The eyelash extensions will adhere to your natural lashes comfortably without damaging your natural lashes or the new growth. However, we suggest that you do NOT try remove the eyelash extensions on your own.
What are the immediate appearance benefits?
Your eyelashes will look longer, thicker and darker in colour. The lashes are already curled, so there’s no need to use lash curlers anymore. You will look well groomed and made up from the minute you wake up in the morning. Because your eyes will already look striking, almost all clients feel that mascara is no longer necessary.
How do I take care of my lash extensions?
For up to 4 hours after the treatment, protect the lashes from contact with water that could weaken the adhesive. For up to 48 hours after treatment, also avoid baths and swimming pools. Do NOT use eyelash curlers as they can break the synthetic lashes, and they are unnecessary since the lash extensions already have curl in them. Regular sauna visits may adversely affect the glue.
Can I use eye makeup with my lash extensions?
If you feel you have to use mascara, do NOT use an oil based mascara. Use a water based mascara instead and apply it only to the ends of your lashes. Use a non-oil based makeup remover. Do NOT rub your lashes when removing makeup.
Can anybody get M-Lash eyelash extensions?
The treatment should NOT be performed on very weak or very short lashes. Some eye infections and diseases may contradict and disqualify you from having the treatment:
- Glaucoma (consult a specialist)
- Dry eye syndrome
- Cataracts (consult a specialist)
- Conjunctivitis
- Diabetes retinopathy (consult a specialist)
- Eye infections
- Skin infections (doctor’s certificate required to proceed)
- Psoriasis
What are the client appointment rules for the M-Lash studio?
Try to arrive on time in consideration of other clients. There is high demand and many appointments scheduled each day. If you are late, there may be less time available for you with no price reduction. Turn off all your mobile devices. For health and safety reasons, we only have room for scheduled clients. If someone came with you, please have them wait in other nearby locations (coffee shops, boutiques, parks, etc.).
